Mom: "Don't look at me like that!" "It wasn't going to survive anyway."

Print #3 (of 5) of a stranger's dream (found on Tumblr).

The 'Don't look at me like that' text is meant to be juxtaposed with the knife (dagger-like stare). and 'It wasn't going to survive anyway' will be paired with the chopped up carrot panel.

I didn't want to ever show/reveal the baby in this series. A)Because the sense I got from the dream is that it isn't about cultural taboos such as cannibalism, pro-choice/pro-life, etc. It seemed like it is about the relationship between the dreamer and her mother (I could be wrong about that though).
and B) because the idea of eating baby meat already creates a sense of unease. Revealing everything in this case would put it all on the table (no pun intended), and while it might create more initial shock, it would be short lived. Whereas by revealing what's going on without showing it, the tension lingers.

Eventually the images will be formatted to fit on pages; more like a traditional comic layout than separate prints.

To me it sounds like a reflection on parenting, and the decisions therein....

I would say so if it were the mom having the dream, but it is actually the daughter's dream.
